Talking about his early life, it was fully aquatic as his parents both worked as Club Med scuba-diving instructors. He got influenced by this milieu, as a child, and later has planned to become a marine biologist. Later, in his life, the family returned to France when Besson was 10. His parents divorced, and both of them remarried. Besson wanted to become a biologist, but one accident has ruined his entire life.
He then left this career option and joined the entertainment industry. He found that this is the industry which can help him to grow without leaving his interests. In order to accomplish all his dreams, he went back to the Paris and started a journey which has taken him so high. He has directed and produced so many films, including - Subway (1985), The Big Blue (1988), and La Femme Nikita (1990). And, at the same time he was associated with the Cinéma du look film movement.
